Sanford-Jackrabbit Athletic Complex
Building Description
The Sanford-Jackrabbit Athletic Complex is a multi-purpose indoor competition and training facility located just north of Dana J. Dykhouse Stadium.
The facility includes an eight-lane, 300-meter track and 100 yards of soy-based synthetic turf, along with space for sports medicine, athletic training, strength and conditioning, physical therapy, hydrotherapy, observation rooms and office facilities.
The project, which cost an estimated $32 million, was completed in fall 2014. To get a perspective of its size, the facility can hold 9.1 million bushels of corn or the Mount Rushmore monument.
Everything from track and field meets to The Pride of the Dakotas Marching Band performances can be held in the S-JAC, which has bleachers, restroom facilities and concessions.
