Annual Activities

Every year, the Dairy Club hosts a Dairy Camp for ages 9-17 in early June. Participants get a hands on experience with sessions on showmanship, fitting, judging and oral reasons. The camp is offered at the SDSU Dairy Research and Training Facility. The last day offers participants a mock dairy cattle show highlighting their hard work.

The Dairy Club also participates in several activities on campus including the Ice Cream Social, Hobo Days, Little International, National Ag Day and a Milk Run. Members also enjoy many recreational activities from bowling to ice skating.

Dairy Digest

The Dairy Digest is an annual publication of the Dairy Club. Released at the department scholarship and awards banquet in April, the Digest is an illustrated documentation of Dairy Club, student and departmental activities and achievements throughout the year. Published Dairy Digests are available since 1987.

SDSU Cheeseboxes Photo
The cheese box fundraiser throughout the holiday season is the Dairy Club's largest fundraiser. Thousands of pounds of cheese are cut and sold in pound packages throughout the duration of the sale. Processed cheese spread is available along with various kinds of cheese. Cheese boxes are sold in the SDSU Dairy Bar and can also be ordered online or by mail and can be shipped to any desired location.

Dairy Camp
Jackrabbit Dairy Camp is open to anyone ages 9 to 17 who has a passion for the dairy industry or wants to learn more! Prior fitting and showing dairy heifers experience is not a requirement for our camp. We are excited to help campers learn the basics of showing dairy cattle while highlighting other industry aspects for a well-rounded dairy experience.
