CHRD-Counseling Licensure Requirements
The CHRD Counseling Programs at SDSU are designed to meet the educational requirements for licensure in South Dakota.
Each state/territory maintains its own licensing or registration requirements. BEFORE beginning SDSU’s program, students intending to secure licensure outside of South Dakota, should review the list to determine whether SDSU has obtained confirmation from the state or territory formally identifying if this program meets the educational requirements for licensure. A status of "not yet determined" means it is currently unknown whether this program meets the education requirements for licensure.
A status of “not yet determined" or "does not meet” may still meet all or a portion of the educational requirements for licensure. Students should contact the licensing agency for confirmation, before beginning the CHRD Program.
It is recommended students regularly check licensure requirements during their studies to ensure ongoing eligibility as state and territory regulations can change. To help facilitate this, direct links to the licensing agencies have been provided when possible.
